Theraband - 6 Yard Roll Review

Theraband - 6 Yard RollI think this a great product. I'm a stroke survivor and I do stretching and strengthening exercises at home to help the tone of my muscles. One fun and easy exercise is using an elastic strap to pull my weak right arm. My physical therapist gives me other exercises, too.

Thera-Band Exercise Tubing - Latex Tubing Review

Thera-Band Exercise Tubing - Latex TubingI originally bought a kit elsewhere with handles, 3 assorted tubes with clips, and a couple of accessories.I love the idea, and have found a lot of easy ways to exercise at home.My back deck has a wood arbor above it, and I can put these around a horizontal wood piece, and do a lot of exercises involving pulling down (like pullups, etc), or I can loop it around a vertical post and do other exercises, including leg exercises.

But the ones I bought keep breaking, so I bought the bulk cable, which is much cheaper than the kit. It's also got much heavier duty tubes, so I don't need to use so many at one time. Also, I have the ability to make different sizes to expand the types of exercises I do.

One thing to be aware of is that sometimes (at least with the 25 foot lengths), it may not be a continuous length. In my case, there were two pieces in some, but the total length was more than 25 feet; since I intended to cut it into pieces anyway, it was OK.I mentioned that it wasn't one piece, and they offered to swap it for me, and seemed very motivated to make sure I was happy with the product. If the length is important to you, you might want to contact them first and let them know via their toll-free number listed with the product (866-263-0674).

I was disappointed with the customer service rep, who made promises to send email with a special offer for a future purchase for my trouble, but failed to follow up - I never got anything.

Product Description
Made of natural rubber, exercise tubing is available in seven lengths of progessive resistance. Resistance levels, obtained by varying the thickness of the tubing, are color-coded in proprietary Thera-Band colors increasing in difficulty through seven levels from tan to silver. The color-coding system provides positive reinforcement and feedback for gauging results. In general, tan and yellow are used for early rehabilitation or very frail individuals. The most common resistances are red, green & blue. Black, silver and gold are typically used by athletes. Can be used for Pilates exercises!

Thera-Band Exercise Bands - Latex Bands - 6 Yards Review

Thera-Band Exercise Bands - Latex Bands - 6 YardsI hired a personal trainer once awhile back and she'd given me a length of the red theraband.I took it for granted and had thought all would be the same, so when the one I had snapped (due to a sharp edge I inadvertantly got it caught on), I bought another band from a fitness store. It was nowhere near as nice as the theraband. It wasn't as grippable and the different resistances were all too tight: even the light one.Plus they were all too short and cumbersome.Theraband is definitely much higher quality than the others.

Product Description
Exercise bands are ideal for building upper and lower body strength for rehabilitation or fitness. Whether building strength after shoulder or knee surgery or improving athletic performance, our bands, tubing and corresponding resistance exercise programs can be easily and economically used for any exercise program. The progressive resistance of our products parallels the basic concepts of building strength and mobility. As each level is mastered, the resistance can be increased with ability. In general, tan and yellow are used for early rehabilitation or very frail individuals. The most common resistances are red, green & blue. Black, silver and gold are typically used by athletes. The use of elastic resistance rather than weight-bearing exercises minimizes pressure on the joints and decreases the possibility of incurring other injuries. They can be used while traveling, sitting at home or even in the office. Uses for the Thera-Band Bands include: exercise, gym, balance, fitness, birthing, yoga, pilates, and stability and resistance.
