Cathe Friedrich's Body Max 2 w/ FREE 6 ft Resistance Band Review

I just recently dicovered Cathe and bought this and others of her DVD workouts.Cathe's workouts are for the serious and advanced exerciser that likes a challenge.Body Max 2 delivers on that challenge. Its a fun and fast paced workout and its over before you know it.If workouts have never been fun for you, try this one.I've done this one about three times so far and I'm still learning the foot work but even with that its still fun to do.You can use a six inch or 8inch step.If you've never done this one before I'd go with the six inch until you feel comfortable with it, then challenge yourself with moving up to the eight inch. Also, as an experienced exerciser it wasn't too hard to modifymoves when I wanted.

Body Max 2 is a great all over work out and I really like how it has alot of things going on it so its never boring.Oh and the mixes are fantastic! It's like getting several workouts in one with the mixes. This is A+ workout for those that really want a body changing workout!

Here's the specifics:

Warm up 9.5 min
Step combo 24.5 min
Power circuits 27 min
Upper Body Weights 20.5 min
Abs 9 min
Stretch 6 min

*If your really ambitious there's Bonus Cardio 6 min.If that's you, I salute you! This workout is Approximately 97 min, but you can use the mixes for a shorter workout or to change up things.

Product Description
After the warm-up, the intense step routine lasts 30 minutes. Then it's on to 4 Power Circuit Segments of Cardio Step, Cardio Blast, and Legs; after that (whew! As if that isn't enough!), Cathe moves us on to Upper Body weight work, core, and a stretch. The FREE Resistance band ($8.95 value) is used in this workout and is also a great addition to Cathe's other challenging workouts such as Drill Max, the Gym Styles, and many more (limit one free band per order).

Cathe Friedrich's Rhythmic Step + Interval Max & MIC DVD Review

I waited to review this DVD until after I'd done all three of these workouts at least once. Now, I am happy to report that all three are fantastic; Cathe regulars will recognize her usual level of intensity, complexity, and fun; newcomers -- especially those looking to push through to the next level -- will find these workouts challenging, but will also feel a huge sense of accomplishment upon completion.Rythmic Step is a fast paced, intricately choreographed workout; may take a few times to fully get it, but once you do, time flies; Interval Max is the first of three "I-Max" workouts, it's good to start here, as Cathe includes modifications and longer recovery periods between hi-intensity blasts that do not appear in I-Max 2 or 3; and Maximum Intensity Cardio simply kicks your butt: 30 plus minutes of floor aerobics (lo, med, & hi intensity); 30 plus minutes of step; topped off with an intensity blast. You will be sore after this one, having used muscles in Hi-Lo you perhaps forgot existed doing lower impact workouts. Cathe suggests two days of rest between attempts at this workout, heed her advice well. One might be tempted to ask, do I want to work this hard? The answer is yes, and the results will be immediate.Highly recommended.

Product Description
Advanced workouts to burn major fat, calories, and to dramatically increase your fitness level. It's all about results!

Cathe Friedrich's Butts & Guts & FREE Resistance Band Review

I'm an advanced exerciser and own many of Cathe's DVDs. If you're familiar with her workouts, you know she's good for delivering a challenge. This one is KILLER - the mother of all leg & glute workouts - and it'll turn you to mush. I have been on a P90X rotation for the past two months but dusted off Butts & Guts yesterday because I've really been missing it. Yowzas! I am feelin' it today!!

The workout as produced starts off with a warmup followed by standing leg work (including walking lunges, one-legged squats, hammer punches, lunge/squat combos, firewalkers, etc.) Then there's floor work using ankle weights (but believe me, you'll feel it w/out them), abs, and a stretch. There are also some bonus segments: stability ball abs, sit n' stands, leg presses, and glute squeezes.

What I appreciate about Cathe's workouts is that all of them are chaptered and come with several premixes as well as the option of mixing and matching. The 47.5 minute Leg Blast premix on this one is a torture session that'll leave your lower half screaming. (That's the one I did yesterday.) The other premixes include: a Standing Glutes & Abs Timesaver (49.5 min.), Overall Legs (65 min.) and Floor Work & Abs (59.5 minutes).

You'll need a resistance band, dumbbells, high step or Fanny Lifter, stability ball, ankle weights, and barbell (I have one but usually sub dumbbells.)

If you want great music, excellent cuing, and a super TOUGH, effective workout, look no further!

The FREE Resistance band ($8.95 value) is a great addition to Cathe's other challenging workouts such as Drill Max, the Gym Styles, and many more (limit one free band per order).

Cathe Friedrich's Hardcore Series: CORE MAX Review

This DVD is great value for money - each workout is just the right length, challenging without being too difficult, and varied enough so that you won't get bored. (The "core" in the title is a little misleading, as these three workouts focus on the abdominal, rather than the back muscles.) An 8 pound medicine ball is recommended; it's used to add resistance to exercises like crunches, roll-ups and rocket shoots.

Cathe has a reputation for being hard core (no pun intended!) but I appreciate that she says things like "Don't worry if you don't have the endurance; it will come over time."

Here's a breakdown of the workouts.

15) Axe crunches
16) Reverse crunches
17) Crunches with arms and legs extended
18) Reverse crunches (second set)

20) Hip dip planks
