Treadmill Supermat Review

I live on the 3rd floor of an apartement building and have wooden floors. I wanted a mat, to save my floors as well as muffle up the sounds and vibrations, so I can feel free to use my treadmill at any hour. This mat may be fine for my floors, as any other mat would be, but it doesn't muffle any sounds. I listened from a floor below, and the sounds are as bad as before.

Product Description
This mat is a great way to protect your treadmill and your flooring. Made from PVC, it will help major parts of your treadmill last longer.

SuperMat Treadmill Mat Review

The description on Amazon.com said that it was 7 feet long. Twice they sent me a mat that was only 6 feet long.I called customer service and they said that they must not actually have the product that I ordered.I cancelled my order and ended up ordering a different mat (7 feet long) that unfortunately was twice the price.

Product Description
The SuperMats® TreadSolid, 3-ft x 7.5-ft equipment mat is intended for use with extra-long treadmills, elliptical cross trainers and rowers. The tough design also allows it to be used for some commercial applications. The durable, solid vinyl PVC construction helps protect floors and carpets from damage and also dimishes vibration and muffles noises. It's easily cleaned with a damp cloth.

Supermats 4'x6' 1/2" Ultimat Review

Great flooring system for a home weightlifting gym. It's heavy and very dense, very similar if not the same type of stuff you see in most commercial gym's. Heavy duty, takes dropped dumbbell punishment, and resists damage/cuts. Use a drywall T-Square as a guide, and put a new blade in a box cutter. Take several passes to cut it and take your time. It cuts straight and square for a professional look. I will definitely buy these again when I get a bigger room for the gym.

Supermats 3'x6.5' Treadmat Review

I have tried many different equipment mats and have always been disappointed. Mats like this offer very little protection for your equipment or floor. These mats rip very easily.

A much better alternative is a 4' x 6' x 3/4" thick rubber mat that you can buy from a farm supply store such as Blain's Farm and Fleet or Tractor Supply Co. I can't take credit for this idea. I discovered this when searching the web for a durable mat. This was suggested by many bodybuilders on the bodybuilding dot com website/forum. These rubber mats are called "Horse Stall Mats" or "Cow Stall Mats". These mats are made to last for years of abuse from cows and horses stomping, urinating, and other shtuff. Therefore, they will certainly hold up to exercise equipment, dumbbells/weights being dropped, and human sweat without a problem. I purchased two of these Cow Stall Mats from Farm and Fleet for $39 each.

SuperMat Equipment Mat Review

I LOVE THIS MAT!!!IT IS PVC rubber and worth every penny.I may buy another. There is NO RUBBER SMELL - which is very important for people with sensitivities to that.I'll have mine for years...feels thick and tough like a tire tread...has a nice grainy texture on top/smooth on the bottem.Won't go wrong ordering one - or two!

Supermats 3'x4' Equipment Mat Review

Most exercise equipment mats provide some padding. This is not a padding mat. It's rather stiff vinyl, and will protect from indentations and spills, but it won't cushion you much. It's also much thinner than other mats. All of which may be better or worse for your application than a thicker mat; for example, this line is perfect for under a treadmill.

A minor problem is that it isn't perfectly rectangular. My guess is it is cut off of long rolls and sometimes the angle is a bit off. This only interferes with getting it to line up with both walls in a corner, and it is minor.

Supermats 3'x6.5' Treadsolid Review

Not a lot to say about a mat... but it is very functional, sturdy and really does "level the playing field" so to speak.Heavy weight (and Heavy!!) does a nice job on floor to floor carpeting if that's all you have to work with...
