Valeo MB12 12-Pound Medicine Ball Review

These are the same set of medicine balls my personal trainer uses. I LOVE them. They are bumpy rubber like a basketball and roughly the same size. The 12 & 10 lb. are about the size of a basketball, while the 8 & 6 lb. are slightly smaller, and 4 & 2 lb. just a bit smaller than that. It seems like such an easy workout but surprisingly you can really feel the workout in your core. They are NOT the same as the Weighted Fitness Ball which is about the size of a softball. My whole family uses these medicine balls, it is a great workout we can all do together.

Product Description
Valeo's 12 pound medicine ball features sturdy rubber construction with a textured surface for superior grip. The ball's durable construction allows it to bounce off hard surfaces. Includes exercise wall chart. Helps develop core strength and improve coordination, balance, and endurance.

Valeo MB8 8-Pound Medicine Ball Review

I'm very happy with this medicine ball. It seems well made, and its deeply textured surface and medium/small size (8.5" in diameter) make it very easy to handle. When I bought this Valeo 8-pound ball, I also ordered a TKO 12-pound ball, which has some distinct differences. The TKO turned out to be much larger: at 11" in diameter, it's even bigger than a basketball, and the texturing on the TKO is not as deep.

All in all, I'm glad I ended up with the combination of one smaller, lighter medicine ball and one bulkier, heavier medicine ball. The larger size of the TKO makes it harder to handle - which is a good thing, because it makes it more of a workout to manipulate it. For exercises like the squat press or medicine-ball curl, I prefer the larger size of the TKO ball, while for exercises more focused on range-of-motion, the smaller Valeo ball is a great tool. If you're considering a pair of these, this might be an option to explore. They both seem equally well made, despite their differences.

But if you're just looking for a mid-weight, easy-to-handle ball, definitely get yourself the Valeo.

Valeo Push-Up Bars Review

They do their job and are sturdy despite being plastic. They can carry my weight (134 lbs). I guess they will be functional for many years.

One issue that I found negative is that somehow they hurt my hands while pushing up. Despite having a foam cover on the handle parts, somehow the plastic bar manages to hurt my hand (usually my right hand). I cannot opt out the possiblity that something is wrong with my hand though (maybe it is week and sensitive. Well, the bars are sturdier than my hands, that is true!)

Overall, a good option considering the price.

Product Description
Durable molded plastic bars with cushioned foam grips. Non-skid removable bases for safety. One pair per set.

Valeo 20-Pound Weighted Vest Review

I've been using the weighted vest now for 5+ weeks.I began with just power walking in it 5 days a week. Then added running of stairs in it for 2 minute intervals and then occasionally jogging in it.Within 2 weeks I noticed a large rip by the chest area on the left hand side.Luckily it is not a structural rip, but does make me nervous that it will not last so I've been reduced to only power walking with the vest 5 days a week and no running at all, as the material does not seem to be able to handle the added stress of bouncing. So if you are only going to be walking in it and not bouncing then this will work great for you.

Product Description
To get more out your cardio workout, try the Valeo 20-pound Weighted Vest. This weighted vest features removable one pound weights so you can increase the weight as you grow stronger. The vest allows you to distribute the weight evenly around your torso for a comfortable strength and conditioning workout. The binding is reflective to improve visibility and the vest includes a convenient accessory pocket as well.

Valeo WFB6 6 lb. Weighted Fitness Ball (6 lb) Review

The good thing about the Valeo Weighted Toning/Fitness Balls is that they are ALL 5 inches in diameter, regardless of the weight size (2lbs up to 10lbs). This means that you can hold 2 10lb. toning balls (one in each hand) while exercising. This is not true of the other toning fitness balls (i.e., gofit and danskin). With the Gofit and Danskin balls, the diameter of the balls increase as the weight increases. So the diameters of the GoFit and Danskin balls are roughly as follows: 6lb=a little under 6 inches, 8lb=a little over 6.5 inches, and 10lb=roughly 7inches versus 5 inches for all of the Valeo balls.

This difference in diameters is really the only difference that I noticed among all of the toning balls. They are all made of soft vinyl, filled with sand and air, and a great alternative to the tranditional hand weights. You can't go wrong buying the Valeo, GoFit or Danskin weighted toning balls.

UPDATED (4/17/06): After using the toning balls for several months, I have found that I actually prefer neoprene dumbbells. Dumbbells are easier and more comfortable to hold and handle. I still think these are good toning balls. But given a choice between a toning ball and a neoprene dumbbell, I would choose a neoprene dumbbell.

Valeo AW10 10-Pound Adjustable Ankle / Wrist Weights Review

I have also purchased weights called 'The Cuff' & another brand - but they don't compare to the Valeo weights. Not only can you remove individual weight packets from each weight attachment - but the entire design is SUPERIOR:Valeo weights close with a 'D' ring plus velcro straps, so the straps don't stick out (I wore a rubber band around the other designed weights to hold the strap down, lest it catch on something &/or come loose) & the Valeo's are SECURE & SAFE!They stay exactly where I put them around my ankles when I walk through brush, etc.The Valeo's don't twist or loosen, regardless of what I'm doing.I would recommend these over all the just 'wrap around velcro straps' closures, without the 'D' ring design, to everyone considering buying any wrist or ankle weights.Don't waste money on the inferior designs (that actually cost MORE!).

Product Description
Valeo's 10 pound adjustable ankle/wrist weights have removable weight packs for adjustment from 2-10 pounds. Adjustable metal d-ring closure system allows weights to be worn on either ankles or wrists. Soft padding provides extra comfort. Double strap closure allows for a secure fit. Packaged in pairs.

Valeo Standard Spring Collars Review

I have two different "standard-size" barbell bars: the spin lock, and a bar bought as part of a set from Modells several years ago. These collars fit the spin lock barbell and dumbbell bars beautifully and prevent the weights from moving to any large degree (but they've been tested at 100lbs. limit). However the collars are way too large for the other "Modell's" barbell set bar.

I don't dispute that these collars are standard-size collars, but I've discovered that not all bars are standard-size bars.Buyers should be mindful of that before they make their purchase, and measure their bar's diameter to make sure it's 1" thick before purchasing the collars. If the bar is, these collars are fantastic for the price.

Product Description
The Valeo Standard Spring Collars fit any one-inch standard bar. These collars are chrome-plated and the easy-grip handles makes them easy to get on and off your bar. The Valeo spring collars conveniently come in pairs.

Valeo JRW1 1 lb. Weighted Jump Rope Review

The rope was very long when I received it, but then I unscrewed the handles and cut the rope and shuved the remaining of it with the not inside the handlebar, which was fairly easy to do, now it's perfect length and the weight really helps with the strengthening of your arms/shoulders, it's definitely a great workout!

Valeo Classic Training Belt 4 inch Review

Valeo Classic Training Belt 4 inchValeo's foam belt line main value is the "memory foam" within the lining. Sampling its use, I tried a bodyweight squat, the movement was uninhibited and the range of motion was smooth. It didn't stop my hips coming up nor stop me from stretching at the bottom. I purchase the belt to protect my spine and increase plate poundage to squat(least used and most misunderstood exercise-review Starting Strength 2nd and Squat Rx on You Tube), deadlift(lumbar strength) and power clean(explosive movement). True to its "memory foam" claim Valeo's belt conforms around your core immediately rather than over time after a couple or several workout sessions. Although, I question the plastic buckle longevity; one year of use seems realistic, but if in two years I'm still using the same belt then clearly it should be in every olympic, power, and bodybuilding lifter's backpack.

Valeo Beaded Jump Rope Review

I bought this rope for my 7-year-old son who has taken a recent interest in jump roping. The rope is adjustable, although there are no instructions for how to adjust it - I had to figure it out for myself. He has been using it frequently for a week or two, and the beads are constantly breaking off.The red ones went first, but now the black ones are starting to break. It's a nice rope with good handles, but the beads need to be made from a more durable plastic.

Product Description
Adjustable 9 foot long plastic beaded nylon rope. Features molded handles with foam grips and sealed ball bearings for even rotation.
