GoFit Little Jump Folding Mini Trampoline Review

I purchased this item to get in some extra cardio while in front of the TV.After looking at the other options available I decided that this mini-tramp was a good balance between reasonable price and quality features. When the mini-tramp arrives, it requires that you install the metal, threaded legs to the tramp.I had one small hitch, as an extra piece of metal (small extra bump) on one of the legs required that I take out my Dremel Tool and remove the extraneous "bump" so that the last leg could be screwed on.No big deal since I knew how to fix it (I'm a chick with tools :O) Once the legs are on, you fold the unit open and you are ready to bounce. This mini-tramp is not the "bounciest" one I have ever tried, but it gets the job done.Overall, the unit feels steady when used and well made.It folds open and closed easily, and makes no noise when in use. I would buy this again.

Product Description

RopeSport Review

I ordered this beaded jumprope with removable weights and recieved a black speed rope that looks and is used for a different function all together. I even tried having them send the rope out again and they sent the same wrong jumprope again and I eventually had to order my jumprope from some else that wasnt quite what I was going for. Plus the speed-rope they sent me cracked a few weeks after I got it and broke right off. I hate to do this but this was the most unsatisfactory purchase that I have ever made on the internet in the last 10 years that I have been shopping online.

GoFit 25-Pound Orange Kettlebell with Vinyl Coating, Iron Core Training DVD and Exercise Booklet Review

...and that's saying something!
I've been into kettlebells for 2 weeks now and I love it. I've been in the military for close to 9 years, but---ironically, I'm the type that does not like to run (or walk) anywhere. LOL Oftentimes, I have to practically force myself onto the treadmill.

I like the KB because it's a simple tool that offers a versatile workout. It's challenging and I feel stronger. Maybe it's just me but every single exercise seems to be full-body/working multiple muscle-groups. I really feel in in my hams, glutes, lower back and arms. The quads aren't worked nearly as much--but I think most ppl tend to over-work their quadsanyway so I don't consider that a problem.

Surprisingly, it isn't hard on the joints.I have bad knees from running so much and intermittent aching in my right hip. You'd think with all the thrusting and such it'd be a problem...but it isn't. These exercises don't bother me. Although--if you have lower back problems it'd probably help not to do AS many swings. Consult your physician, first.

The biggest reason that I like KB: It's fun. 15 minutes doesn't seem like 15 minutes....and that's what I like.

My workout plan?
Well, I'm still perfecting my routine but it's heavy on cardio. I split my workout into 20 minute sessions; twice a day.
Every day (i may not work out intensively but I still work out. I think it's fine to work out less but I can't NOT do some form of exercise on a daily basis).
In a week or two, I plan to push it to 25 minutes, though. Originally, I started off with 15 min workouts;2x/daily.

For Cardio:
*SWINGS: 10 swings;rest for 10 sec. alternate between indiviuals/2-handed
*DECK SQUATS
*JUMPING JACKS
*MOUMTAIN CLIMBERS
I usually end with jumping jacks, cranking out as many as I can. I space these exercises throughout my workout to keep my heart rate up. I do these to exhaustion or until my time is up. Whichever comes first.

For conditioning I do:
*WINDMILLS
*DEADLIFTS
*SQUATS
*ROWS.
I also use an exercise ball for abdominal work and two 15lb dumb-bells(for windmills, seated calf exercises and rows).
I'm 5'4; 172 (hey--I'm a solid woman, lol) and I use the 25lb kb for swings, deadlifts and squats. I plan to buy two 15 lb KB's though. Though I can do individual swings w/no problem I won't try a 'clean and jerk' with this bell.
As I mentioned before I do have dumb-bells...but it's really not the same thing. It doesn't achieve the same effect.

Anyway---there's a Krav Maga studio in my hometown that offers KB training and I'd like to attend. Except...I don't see much point in paying money for what I can do myself. I only go to the gym for the sauna...

FORGOT TO MENTION:
I don't remember what's on the CD.(lol) It was a nice intro to the KB. Basic exercises, from what I remember.
After a day, I was online and on Youtube looking for KB routines.
I haven't looked at the DVD since...

Wobble and Balance Board - Black Review

I purchased this item because it came highly recommended in many PT and fitness articles. Also, I had tried, what I thot, was a similar wobble board at PT. What a surprise at how hard it is! The minute ball underneath for balancing makes even easy beginning is a real challenge. No doubt that I'll benefit if I can just 'hang in there' til I show some progess. The DVD which came with it, apparently has been fixed. It's very straight forward, no non-sense marine style exercises. Wish they would show people over 50 using and succeeding at this. Would recommend a much more forgiving balance/wobble board for beginners..

GoFit Weighted Vest Review

I am a pretty serious runner, averaging at least 40 miles a week (I've run two marathons) and I also do Hatha Yoga daily (with some unique modifications to make it more difficult).Formerly, I was a serious weightlifter. This information is provided to understand my review.

Most recommendations for first time weight vest runners is to start with about 2.5% above your weight for the vest.Clearly, this recommendation is to fend off litigous people who don't understand the increased difficulty when running with a weight vest and then have a problem and blame the manufacturer.I weigh about 150 lbs., and it is perfect for me.

I started with several easy five to six milers.During the run, I immediately noticed the effects after starting one route for my run which starts with a large incline.I would not recommend that.Rather, warm up slightly longer to get both your breathing and body used to the weight. Also, PLEASE be careful as the inevitable problems outdoor runners experience, i.e., rocks, curbs, or uneven sidewalks can be much more dangereous.Your achilles/ankle area will be very sensitive and any trip or loss of balance could be dangereous.Of course, I ran at a slower pace than I usually do, but overall found the normal run to be perfect with the weight vest.I stretched and did Yoga afterwards and I would certainly recommend you stretch afterwards, too.The next day, I did feel sore, but in a good, "long run of the week" way.I did not experience any pain. After several "normal" runs with the vest, I embarked on my twice weekly hill training session. It was AWESOME.Climbing the long hill that I normally do repeats on was intense.Going down the same hill was challenging as well.PLEASE be careful when going down a hill with the vest; you'll definitely notice a big difference on the impact on your body.

Going down hills is where I experienced my only complaint about the vest:for those who are thin, it is a little loose in the rib cage area.It doesn't bounce around on the waist at all where the straps are.It just could use an additional strap in the rib cage area.Women may notice this even more.

Overall, I absolutely love this vest.It doesn't require you to add the weights and is easy to wear. Also, the price is fantastic.

Finally, PLEASE be careful and be fit before you start running with this vest.KNOW YOUR LIMITS, please.Beginning by walking would probably be wise.

It will be a great addition to your training sessions.

Product Description
The GoFit weighted vest is perfect for adding resistance to your workout whether it be for aerobics, football, or training for the Fireman's Academy. The weighted vest is adjustable in weight and designed to fit both men and women with its unique one size fits all double closure design.

GoFit Dual Mount Adjustible Chin-up Bar - Red Review

This is a robust and simple pull-up bar that gives you additional position options because of the add-ons shown in the picture. Unlike other models, this gives you more options without the added bulk and assembly hassles.

However, attachment is probably more tedious because it requires you to mount holds for the bar at the sides of the door, using brackets - each secured with 5 screws. At first, I thought 5 screws per bracket was overkill but it really gives a more secure and tight fit compared to similar models that are of the "twist-to-secure" variety.

Once installed, the brackets seem to "lock" the bar in position and it won't twist or even move like other bars once you use it. It almost feels as if you bolted the bar directly on the door!

Highly recommended!

Product Description
The New GoFit Ultimate Chin-up Bar is a great addition to your home training program. Now you can use your chin-up bar to get a club level upper body work out. GoFit Lifting Hooks Review

I use dumbbells and weight machines.A physical therapist recommended that I use hooks (or lifting straps) in order to avoid gripping too hard - a behavior that aggrevates my lateral epicondylitis (i.e. tennis or mouse elbow). These Gofit hooks will do the job; but I like the Harbinger hooks better - they have a larger hook and a longer wrist strap. The larger hook slips off less easily and the longer wrist strap makes them easier to put on. If you do any heavy lifting, I'd recommend the Harbinger also since they are more robust.

Product Description
The Go Fit Power Hooks are the perfect accessory to help fight hand fatigue and help you get the most out of those last reps. The steel hooks areenclosed in rugged nylon and simply hook over the bar or dumbbell, enhancing your grip. They are much simpler to use than traditional weight lifting straps. The neoprene wrist support provides firm yet comfortable support for heavy lifts. The GoFit Power Hooks are perfect for shrugs, dead lifts, lat pull downs, low pulls and pull ups.

GoFit 35-Pound Dark Green Kettlebell with Vinyl Coating, Iron Core Training DVD and Exercise Booklet Review

I'm not an authority on kettlebells, but I have been using them regularly for a couple of years now. I started out with GoFit's kettlebells because of the price point compared to Dragondoor and others, and also the fact that I could actually go into a store and try one out.

While they are fine if you're starting out, or doing exercises like Windmills, Renegade Rows, swings, the handles are of pretty poor quality, and make moves like slingshots or even snatches quite painful. I've had painful callouses due to them. I would not write this review otherwise, but since the real power of kettlebell training comes from the high rep, ballistic, full range of motion exercises such as snatches, swings, slingshots etc.,I believe that when you are ready to use this as a serious tool for conditioning, that you consider a kettlebell that has better handles, and distribution of weight.
Also - the PVC coating on the kettlebell is really painful if you have hair on your arms and try to do cleans.

Ok kettlebell, but really, invest in one of the original ones. I had 2 of these when i started out, and I dont use them anymore.

GoFit 20-Pound Blue Kettlebell with Vinyl Coating, Iron Core Training DVD and Exercise Booklet Review

Quite a few people give their own personal experience when getting these bells so you do need to pay attention to what weight accurately fits your strength. It is interesting to hear others experiences. In a book, one might read a male who is of average strength can start out with 36 pounds! I must be really weak, I sometimes need to use my 15 lb. kettlebell but the 20 pounder is what I prefer and I can see possibly moving up from that in time. The whole thing is a good exercise for the entire body and one's agility.

Find the right weight. I agree, it really can be a portable gym to work on where ever you are. The booklet likewise is helpful to get you started on basics. I'm not sure how brands compare but the gofit KBs are sturdy with the fine vinyl coating which I'd think are good on carpet.

GoFit Core Essentials DVD & Training Card - Level 1 & 2 Review

I have the whole series of DVD's as well as the books.. i think there some great information there.. however, I'm not 100% in agreement with the program design progressions.. As a corrective exercise specialist, I prefer my clients to do their 'Core' exercises at the end of their training hour.. Additionally, as simple as some of these seem, sedentary clients still need coaching. I have people that can't figure out what 90 degrees are without me.. Brett Cohen

Hi, i have been using kettlebells now for about one year now and i think with diet and the bell i have been able to lose almost twenty pounds this year! GoFit GF-PMAT Pilates Mat (24" x 72" x 1/2") Review

Bought this to do pilates on my hardwoods. Really the perfect amount of cushion & does not move with rolling exercises. Great for spine and hipbones. Came rolled up and the edge still doesn't want to completely unfold, that's why it gets 4 instead of 5. I'm sure it will eventually come out but it should've been packaged more carefully. Also, since it is thicker than a normal mat, it takes up a little more room, but it is worth the comfort!

GoFit Ultimate Burst Resistant Core Stability Ball with Workout DVD (55 cm) Review

I purchased 2 GoFit Ultimate Burst Resistant Core Stability Balls w/DVD (orange 55cm and purple 65cm)over a year ago from Amazon (on sale). The ball is a very durable, good quality ball (no foul smells or sticky surfaces like some other stability balls). I haven't had any problems with the ball in over a year of constant use. I have had to occasionally add air to keep the ball at the appropriate size (but nothing out of the ordinary).

This package comes with the ball, pump and workout DVD. I didn't even attempt to use the cheap manual pump included, but opted to use my husband's automatic pump, which quickly and easily inflated the ball to the desired size without any effort. The workout DVD is that in name only. It has some good exercise ideas, but if you are looking for a stability ball workout, you will probably want to buy a separate "true" stability ball workout DVD. Also, if you ever need an extra plug, you can buy them directly from the manufacturer at GoFit.net.

As a side note ...

When determining what size stability ball to purchase, leg length (not height) is what ultimately dictates the size ball you need. If you know you have shorter or longer legs for your height, then you may need to get a smaller or larger ball than the standard height charts for stability balls.

For those of you who are unsure of how much to inflate your stability ball, here are some helpful guidelines taken from the fitnesource site ... On a wall, measure 55cm, 65cm or 75cm (depending on the ball size you have) from the floor and mark it with a pencil. Then inflate the ball until it feels/looks "full", but is not hard and still has a little bit of give in it when you press on it. Put the ball close to the mark you made on the wall and then place a ruler on top of the ball so that it touches the top of the ball and the mark on the wall. This will tell you how close you are to the maximum inflation for your ball size. If this is the first time you are inflating the ball, while it might seem full, it might still measure small. If this happens, give the ball a day to "stretch out" and then add some additional air, if needed. If you don't want to do all that, they also sell tape measures specifically for measuring the diameter of stability balls. Just keep in mind, that when you sit on the ball with your feet flat on the ground and knees bent, your knees should be level with or slightly lower than your hips (a 90 degree angle).

Product Description
GoFit's Ultimate Burst Resistant Core Stability balls are a safe way to work your abs, back and full core. The slow-deflate quality and extra-thick wall construction of the GoFit Ultimate Burst Resistant Core Stability ball makes this ball suitable for weight training, stretching, rehabilitation and other heavy use since it is designed to slowly deflate if punctured. This health club quality ball is suitable for home and commercial use. Each kit includes the orange 55cm burst resistant ball, a 25-minute training session on DVD, a detailed exercise poster and an air pump. Suitable for those 5'0" to 5'6" tall.

Go Fit Ultimate Pro Gym Review

A note about operation of the ankle straps: you have to open them up and turn them so the scratchy Velcro is on the outside away from your skin...place the ring where you want it, wrap the remaining strap around your leg and then thread the strap through the ring and pull snug before securing the Velcro.

This way it will stay on no matter what weight you use. I promise...I use A LOT of weight for leg training.

I have been involved in health and fitness for over 20 years as a Body Builder, Body Sculptor, Trainer, Therapist, Coach and many other positions in the field. I am currently the Director of Personal Success Now.

I bought this to check it out - to determine if it was a good option for some of my clients who do not want to go to the gym. I also travel and wanted some way to ensure I would have the ability to work out anywhere.

Finally, no more work outs with a towel for resistance!!

This little gym in a bag is great. It comes in a small bag and is very light. It comes with a poster or book demonstrating possible workouts and it comes with a DVD (or CD) that describes and demonstrates workout possibilities. You can play this CD as a "trainer" or view the exercises singly.

The DVD has in a very good core performance, functional workout and some excellent information on nutrition. (The CD features Trainer and Fitness Model Linda Leene, and describes and demonstrates workout possibilities. You can play this CD as a "trainer" or view the exercises singly)

You get the aforementioned ankle straps, handles, and a door anchor. You also get a 5, 10, and 15 pound cable. The weight range is 5 to 30 pounds in 5-pound increments by combining the cables. The handles are comfortable and the cables hook and unhook very easily.

The possible weight/cable combinations look like this:
5 / 10 / 15 / 20=15+5 / 25=15+10 / 30=15+10+5

Additional cables are only $4 from the company...note: if you need more weight, you only need to get another heavy cable...because you can create any combination up to 45 pounds in 5 pound increments with only the 1 additional cable.

Combinations from 35 to 45 pounds look like this:
35=15+15+5 / 40=15+15+10 / 45=15+15+10+5

Every time you need more weight, you only need another 15-pound cable.

The weights discussed above represent the resistance for each hand. So, doing curls with the heavy cable is like curling 15 pounds in each hand.

I highly recommend this as an at-home and on the go training tool!

For safety - Always check your cables for wear before working out. Always make sure the door anchor is secure in the door and the door is closed and LOCKED before training with the door anchor. Always warm up before your workout. Always warm down and do flexibility movements after your workout.

There are down-loadable sheets for "tone and shape" and for "muscle and strength" 12-week workouts.

GoFit Exercise Ball (65 cm) Review

I use this ball (in the 65cm size) as a "chair" for my desk in my office. It took a while to get it up to the right size. The pump it comes with is lousy: it fell apart a couple times, and doesn't have much power. However, it did get the job done. The circumference of the ball is supposed to be 81 inches. I got it up to about 70 inches the first day. After 2 days (including 1 day of sitting on it), I was able to inflate it to the full size. So far I haven't had any problems with leaking. The ball is working great as a chair.
