Tunturi T60 Programmable Folding Treadmill Review

I bought this item a year ago from a local fitness center. They really tried hard to make this work. THe local fitness center was out to work on it almost a dozen times. They could repeat the error but not fix it.
After 6 months and a replacement unit they could not make this equipment reliable.
The factory support technician was not responsive at all.

This unit constantly has a Speed Sensor error which shuts the unit down hard. No warning just off. They have replaced the sensors. The controllers etc. They even replaced the entire unit. It is a programming defect in the software that ruins this unit. Another words there is no fix.

Its very unfortunate but it is now a $2300 coat rack. Can't sell it, can't give it away. Can't even trade it. Who would want a unreliable treadmill?

I would never buy a Tunturi.
I used to have a PaceMaster Gold....was awesome but no local resellers so I tried this. Opps.
After the divorce its the treadmill I miss the most.

Product Description
Want to get fit without trudging to the gym day after day? Turn to the Tunturi T60 folding treadmill, which offers most of the features of a commercial treadmill in the comfort of your basement, den, or garage. The T60 is outfitted with a powerful 3.0 horsepower motor that offers a speed range of 0 to 12 miles per hour, along with a fully shock-absorbent T-Flex 21-by-59-inch running deck. The comprehensive LED display, meanwhile, lets you track your time, distance, speed, and calories burned, with 35 total programs--including eight preset programs and 20 user programs--making it easy to design a comprehensive workout regimen. Users will also love the patented hands-free speed control system, which automatically slows down when the user slows down and accelerates when the user speeds up the pace. Perhaps the handiest feature, however, is the folding mechanism, which offers a safe double-locking system to immobilize the belt. The foldable frame and bottom wheels make the treadmill easy to transport and store after your workout is complete.

Other features include three constant heart-rate modes and a transmitter belt; an orthopedic belt that offers a minimum impact on the user's joints; a 0- to 12-percent incline range; a water bottle holder; a weight capacity of 300 pounds; a quick safety stop in case of emergency; an RS 232 PC connection; and a stylish sand/gold chassis. The treadmill measures 38 by 69 by 44 inches (W x H x D) when folded, weighs 220 pounds, and carries the following warranties: 20 years on the frame and motor and 18 months on components.

About Treadmills
Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home.

From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface.

While many different types, styles, and price ranges of treadmills exist, many of them offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the simple to complex features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting beneficial cardiovascular results without a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.
