I bought the classic PowerBlock set just a few weeks ago. Having read a lot of reviews it became clear that a tray or stand was going to make using the blocks much easier. I didn't want to spend 100+ on a stand nor did I really have space for a stand in my apartment. I purchased the tray and have found it very useful. Changing the blocks on carpet without a tray can be difficult and resting the blocks on a hardwood floor or on a table could easily scratch the surface given their weight. The tray provides a very solid surface that you don't have to worry about scratching or denting. Most of all it makes changing the weights easy. I bought these specifically for use with the P90X program. With the tray I am able to change to different weights quickly enough to keep up with the pace of the P90X videos.
It is a simple product that does exactly what it advertises. Recommended.
